Balustrade Standoff Assembly for Laminated Glass
The balustrade standoff is deceptively simple-looking once installed, but contains a complex internal mechanism such that only a few fittings can fully support a 3,000-pound glass balustrade panel. The “j-groove” geometry inside the two-part standoff is modeled after the pin-connection which fastens many camera lenses in place. It allowed the assemblies to be locked from behind the glass after the panel with laminated cylindrical inserts was in place.
