Composite Steel and Cable Truss
This hybrid Vierendeel truss, one of eight used to stabilize a façade, is composed a steel front cord with moment connected king posts. The moment frame is completed by the use of a highly-tensioned stainless steel cable which is clamped to the rear of the truss, then tied to the outboard building structure. The steel sections are painted and the cable was bright polished.
