151 El Camino Stair
This stair was designed and fabricated for Kennedy Wilson’s new world headquarters in Beverly Hills, CA. Situated in the three story atrium, the stair includes glass channels and tread connections integrated in custom fabricated and fully machined stainless steel box section stringers, structured to appear as though it is floating in the space.
TriPyramid overcame an extreme production schedule, tight building tolerances and other design constraints by assembling a team to work in close coordination using a sophisticated set of shop and fabrication drawings. This work was accomplished using a single parametric model we created to ensure a seamless workflow between offices, shops, and client.
The only installation access to the space was a skylight opening. Therefore, the stringer components were machined with aerospace accuracy on 5-axis mills in our CA facility. Six pre-assembled units, connected via a hidden splice-bolt system, were delivered to site and fit perfectly.
