270 Brannan Street, Tension Rod Supported Canopy

Located near the historic Rincon Hill district of downtown San Francisco, this canopy covers a central courtyard which serves as the social highlight for the new urban infill office building.

Tripyramid worked closely with Enclos on the design and integration for five pairs of A22-0750 medium strength stainless steel rods above the glass canopy, connecting and supporting both the structural spine and beams for the canopy back to the building.

TriPyramid designed the custom stainless steel clamps with a concealed stainless steel pin and spherical rod seat to allow the rods to adjust to the angular variations between the inclined spine of the canopy and the vertical exterior walls forming the central court. Tripyramid’s B215-0750 adjustable clevis assemblies finish the system by tying the rods back to the building some 25 feet above the canopy.
