55 Water Street Light Beacon
This lighted glass structure was designed by the architect as part of a pedestrian park atop a parking garage in lower Manhattan. When lit at night it is truly a beacon, visible from sea as one enters the East River, and from the air, flying over lower Manhattan.
TriPyramid worked with the architect and glass contractor to devise and develop the structural system for the beacon, and then fabricated all elements of the structure, from structural steel to the aluminum extrusions and cast stainless fittings that hold the glass in place
