Entry Canopy, NY Presbyterian Hospital
The ambulatory entrance to the Vivian Seymour Milstein Family Heart Center at the New York Presbyterian Hospital features a large, glass canopy. The primary canopy structure is a 34 foot by 15 foot frame of 316 stainless steel plate beams welded to a three inch diameter front fascia bar.
TriPyramid worked with the architect and structural engineer to design the canopy and associated hardware. TriPyramid then manufactured the frame, the carbon steel brackets which attach the frame to the building steel, the B215 adjustable clevis assemblies and A22-0375 rods used to tension the frame, and the hanger rod assemblies which support the mid-span of the canopy from the building overhang. The glass and glass standoff assemblies were provided by W&W Glass.
