Glass and Wood Stair, NYC
This stair in a New York City residence was retrofitted to include glass balustrades and refined, stainless steel handrail supports.
TriPyramid designed and engineered the connection details essential to this project, and hired a structural engineer per the architect’s request to design the glass panels. The existing stair tread’s flush-mounted, steel side plates allowed for a clean connection of the glass via new painted steel plates and stainless steel standoff assemblies. TriPyramid designed the stainless steel handrail fittings to echo the standoff geometry to form a cohesive, minimalistic finished product. Wooden handrail by others.
