Glass Skylight, California Palace of the Legion of Honor

When this museum was renovated as part of a seismic refit, the architect introduced a pyramidal skylight in the entrance courtyard to bring natural light into a formerly dark, below-ground exhibit space.

TriPyramid worked with the architect in early design phases to develop an optimized structural system for this strategically located skylight. As part of the process, TriPyramid generated a 3-D model used to analyze and finalize geometry for both the structure and the glass panels. All structural elements, including struts, nodes, and tension rods, were manufactured by TriPyramid.
