Lobby Entrance Enclosure, 601 Lexington Avenue, NY
The glass enclosure creates a new iconic entrance for this Lexington Avenue building.
TriPyramid worked with the architect, structural engineer, and glazing contractor to develop the design and fabrication strategy for the painted steel fins which support the glass walls. By machining the fins from 1-1/2 inch, solid plate instead of fabricating them from three ½ inch plates, TriPyramid was able to maintain straightness over the full height, provide a crisp reveal on both edges and flat, dimple-free, surfaces. TriPyramid also provided the stainless steel glass fittings and stabilizer rods.
