Memphis Performing Arts Center Scrim
This sculpture floats in the spacious entry atrium of the Memphis Performing Arts Center. Light plays off of the dichroic glass struts and the scrim fabric, stretched to form by the delicate structure.
TriPyramid worked with the artist and engineer to develop all the structural details. With all Carpenter sculptures, the hardware system is designed to be an integral part of the art. TriPyramid manufactured all the hardware components to extremely tight tolerances and high standards of finish to keep focus on the sculpture as a whole—not on the bits holding it up.
