Museum of Fine Arts, America’s Cup Yacht Installation
As part of the owner’s art collection on exhibit in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA, his two America’s Cup yachts were on-exhibit outside the entrance. The boats were set up fully rigged, sitting on their keels, heeling over as if they were under sail.
TriPyramid consulted with the owner’s team and the structural engineer to verify the design of the supporting stay system which held the boats securely in their heeled-over state. TriPyramid developed and installed an instrumentation and telemetry system to monitor loads in the various support stays, to ensure that the ground anchors were stationary and that the installation remained secure.
