New York Loft Stair
This stair was designed to “float” in the open space of a SoHo loft. The stainless steel riser tubes pierce a vertical glass wall through a mechanically sophisticated, but delicate looking, adjustable gland, which transfers torque loads from the tubes into the glass.
TriPyramid worked with the engineer and architect to develop all the intricate details, avoiding unnecessary mass while meeting the demanding structural requirements. TriPyramid supplied hardware for the destructive test mockup, and then manufactured all the hardware for the final installation to exacting dimensional tolerances and standards of finish.
