Nu Skin Innovation Center
BCJ’s design called for a central lobby with two, large glass walls over the main entry points of the building. The walls addressed different lighting conditions; one facing north brought in soft natural light and one facing south required solar shading. The structure of the building did not allow for a cable-wall solution, but the designers wanted to minimize visible structure as much as possible. W&W Glass and TriPyramid developed a scheme to efficiently connect to the existing building. The primary elements are horizontal plate beams with integrated glass support hardware. Each beam is fully machined which makes the location of all glass hardware exact, reducing the need for field adjustment and minimizing the size of all elements. The entire system is hung from overhead steel using our A22-0375 stainless steel rod with B101-20-0375 noses. The integration of TriPyramid hardware systems along with W&W / Pilkington engineering and glass allowed for the creation of a lightweight structure while maximizing daylight openings.
