Tokyo International Forum

The showpiece of this project is a 200 meter long by 60 meter high glass hall. Both the roof and side walls are supported by unique tension truss arrangements.

The tension rods supporting the roof are 75 mm diameter steel rods with hot-forged ends, captured by TriPyramid-designed, cast and forged steel fittings. The walls are wind-braced by cable trusses with pairs of 36mm diameter cables. TriPyramid collaborated with the architect, engineers, sub-contractors, and material suppliers on the design of the various tension members and all associated fittings, and supplied the high-strength alloy steel cable turnbuckles for the wall trusses. Additional material was supplied by Japanese contractors per TriPyramid specifications.
