Wall Bracing System, Salt Lake City Library
The Crescent Wall is one of the architectural features of the Salt Lake City Library. A series of “Y-braces” are integral to the structure, and are very much a presence in the occupied spaces.
Using high-strength steel sand castings, TriPyramid designed and produced the interlocking strut ends such that all three fit within the profile of the 6” diameter pipe (by others) and connect to each other with a common pin. TriPyramid also designed and produced the delicate, stainless steel “whisker stays”, which stabilize the “Y-braces.”
