Wood and Glass Residential Stair
This residential stair features wood treads on steel supports, which cantilever from steel structure concealed behind the finished wall.
TriPyramid worked with the architect and structural engineer to develop the compelling hardware system. The glass balustrade panels are held by custom stainless steel clips at the bottom. At the stair, the panels are also propped by patch fittings, attached to the tread support tubes, made by others. The balcony balustrade panels are restrained by patches that fasten through the glass joint to the floor timbers. The handrail fittings mimic the patches and gracefully fix the wood handrail, made by others, to the glass. TriPyramid manufactured and supplied all the stainless steel hardware.
